Tasting by an Uneducated Palate

Don't Miss,

Yes,

Maybe,
No,
Avoid
Georges
Vigouroux Cahors Château de Mercuès 2004

I want very much to like this wine. I had the opportunity to meet a
representative of the vineyard at a tasting, and he was kind enough
to speak French with me in spite of my halting French. The chateau
is beautiful, and we may have the opportunity to visit soon. The
wine is big, the fruit subtle, with lots of acidity and tannin.
Greg
Norman Cabernet Merlot 2006

Nice red, starting spicy and ending cherry, becoming more cherry
over time.
2007
Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

The white wine served at the Obama inaugural
lunch and the best Sauvignon Blanc I have ever tasted. Out of the
bottle, there is a little of the typical herbal taste. But it
quickly opens into a sweet floral nose and taste, with more body
than most Sauvignon Blancs.
Sant'Orsola
Asti

Sparkling dessert wine, refreshing, sweet but not
cloying, with a light peach scent and taste. So far a hit with
everyone we have shared it with.
2008
Fabre Montmayou Phebus MMC

Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon blend. A little grapey nose, but
little else. Bland with a short finish.
